Japanese cooking classes in March 2013

We would like to inform our regular classes (2 and half hours including lecture and
tasting time) in March 2013.

The menu is a great party dish "Gyu-no-Tataki" (Beef carpaccio) & a traditional
Tofu dish "Shira-ae" (Mashed Tofu dressing salad).
The lecture is "Food presentation".

Let's learn Japanese home-style cooking and how to present beautiful dish
by demonstration & hands-on cooking!

Everyone is welcome even you have never cooked Japanese food before.

**Date & Time        :  Wed  6th day-time (11:00am-1:30pm)
                               Tue  12th night (6:00pm-8:30pm)


**Cooking menu      :  "Gyu-no-Tataki" (Beef carpaccio)
                             ---"Tataki" is that meat or fish is seared very briefly
                                  over a hot frame or pan. We make Beef-Tataki
                                  served with home-made "Ponzu-sauce".

                               "Shira-ae" (Mashed Tofu dressing salad)
                             ---It has been one of the traditional Japanese side dishes
                                   since 200 years ago.

**15mins. lecture    : "Food presentation"
                             ---"Moritsuke" (=Food presentation) is one of important
                                  processes for Japanese cooking. We will demonstrate
                                  how to present food beautifully.

**Service              : "Cha-soba" (=Green tea soba noodle)

Cooking class on Mon 25th (6pm) February

We had great class last night, Mon 25th (6pm) February.
The menu was "Yakitori" (Chicken on bamboo-skewers) &
"Harusame-salad" (Vermicelli-salad), and the lecture was
"Umeboshi" (pickled Ume-plum).


Everybody enjoyed making own "Yakitori" even Japanese customers, too!
They are great BBQ meal as well, so hopefully everybody will make this at home.

Japanese cooking class in February 2013


We would like to inform our regular class (2 and half hours including lecture and

We are doing the same menu as January class because a lot of people couldn't
make it.

The menu is a well-known "Yakitori" (Chicken on bamboo-skewers) & a nice summer
dish "Harusame-salad" (Vermicelli-noodle salad).
The lecture is "Umeboshi" (=pickled ume-plum).

Let's learn Japanese home-style cooking by demonstration & hands-on cooking!

Sushi class come back in January!!

"Sushi class" is coming back on Wed the 9th January (11am-1:30pm).
This is our regular 2.5hrs class including lecture and tasting-time.


The menu is "Sushi-roll" (basic roll & inside-out roll) and
"Sushi-variations" (Temari-zushi & Inari-zushi).
They are both very popular and great party food, too.
The lecture is "How to cook rice perfectly", which is the most important
to make good "Sushi".

Everyone welcome, you don't need any experience!

Let's learn Sushi making by demonstration & hands-on cooking.

Cooking class on Mon 17th (6pm) December

We had another cooking class on Mon the 17th (6-8:30pm) with
the same menu, "Tsutsumi-yaki" & "Takikomi-gohan". The lecture
was "Shiwasu" (=December).
We put Xmas decorations on dishes and celebrated Xmas together!
